Cut & Paste Peter Cottontail in paper sculpture

Many, many years ago when small people came to Nana's for Easter a favorite pass time was to build a bunny using craft paper, scissors and glue.
You can do it too. Here's how...
You will need a sheet of stiff white paper (a few sheets of card stock will do), construction paper in bright Easter colors (we used pink, yellow and light blue), a black marker for the eyes, white craft glue, tape, scissors and a craft knife. I suggest you read through the direction, print out the pattrens, cut out all the parts and then assemble. The pattrens are shown full size at 1024 X768 resolution. IF you lack confidence when it comes to the face, print out the one shown in the directions and paste it to your stiff paper before assembly.
The Body - Start by rolling one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of stiff white
paper or card stock into a cone and taping it tightly. Cut the bottom corner
off so Mr. Rabbit
will stand flat. Your cone will be about 3" across the base.
Cut
pants front and back from yellow construction paper. Accordion fold along
pattern lines. Fit and attach to cone body with tape or glue forming creased
trousers.
Cut Jacket back and front from blue construction paper. Find top center of Jacket back and tape to body, positioning so the inverted "V" of the coat tails falls just above the "V" in trouser back.
Arms: Cut two rectangles of blue paper 3" x 3 3/4". Roll into cones and glue securely. The arm cones should be slightly more narrow near the "wrists".
Cut hands from white card stock and attach to the outside of arms, forming a mitten by gluing only the edges together

Cut two cuffs from pink paper
and
attach to arms, covering the top of the hands. (see photo for detail).
Position the finished arms against the Jacket back and secure with tape. Don't glue them in place yet, you may need to adjust the length and position after the Jacket is finished.
Carefully glue the Jacket front to the Jacket back along the top edge only. Holding the lower points together, determine if the arms are correctly positioned. Make any necessary adjustments then glue the jacket edges together around the arms fastening only at the edges. Do not glue the Jacket to the body yet.
