Cut & Paste Peter Cottontail in paper sculpture
continued...
page three of three
Cut two ears from white card stock and two inner ears from pink construction paper. Glue the inner ears in place as shown... make sure to position them so you'll get one left ear and one right ear. If they both face the same way you'll have two ears for one side of Mr. Rabbit's head. That'll make for a rather strange bunny.

Temporarily position the ears either upright or loped, but remember they must come from a logical place on the head and the hat brim must fit comfortably around them.

Cut the hat brim from pink construction paper. Position it around the hat cone and overlap the narrow end with the wide end to the line. Fasten in place. Repositioning brim and ears as needed.
Cut a few flowers from scraps in different colors and attach them to the hat
cone and brim to secure them.

Finally, cut the bow-tie from Yellow paper and attach it to the shirt front
as shown.
When fully assembled your sculpture will be an individual work of art. No two bunnies every come out exactly the same. If you'll want to keep the sculpture for a few years, plan on using an acid free paper tape and archival glue. You can, of course, add ribbon, faux flowers, and other decorations of your choosing. I tend to stick with an all paper bunny... so it honestly qualifies as "paper sculpture". Have fun!
