Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme…
These are a few of the herbs we’ve started for this summer…along with spicy oregano, chocolate mint, marjoram, chives and basil.
The four square beds that once held all of our herbs have been planted with tomatoes, peas, radishes, carrots, and peppers.
The only things left over from last summer are the St. John’s Wort and the French Lavender; both old favorites – both covered with buds we weren’t willing to risk by moving them.
The two squares on the north edge contain the Bay Laurel, some ferns and a potted Lime. Right now the grapefruit tree (who’s grown to shade most of this portion of the garden is in full bloom. I wish this was “scratch and sniff”.
The fragrance is amazing. Add in the lemon, lime, and blood orange trees, also covered with flowers and walking out to the herbs takes your breath away.
D. took the camera and walked around the yard, capturing some great shots, so I’ll be sharing more later. Right now he’s invited me to “go for sushi”. I’m outta here!
