2003
July
2003— Nana Ellen's Stories 'n' Stuff was selected as the NOVA
SITE of the month at netnacs.com WOW!!
The selection was for June 2003, so by the time you read this we may
have been moved to the archives. Even if our site is still the featured
site, I suggest you have a look at the archives anyway. Being listed
here is like being awarded a spot in Who's Who. These sites
are the best of the best. The award cannot be applied for. Sites are
chosen by the people who have earned the right to be top rated award
sites themselves.
I am absolutely thrilled to be included! Thanks to Will Harbeson for
submitting my site and to the folks at NetNacs for including it in their
very impressive list of Nova Sites.

May 2003 - Hello Ellen, please accept the SunsetSurfers Gold Medal of
Excellence for your efforts at Nana Ellen's Stories 'n' Stuff. You
have been very busy! Each time I have visited your site has grown.
What touches me still is your great skill with your original art and
how well it fits your "comfy" theme. Very impressive site
that welcomes it's visitors with open arms and a truly warm reception
while utilizing technology and good taste. Well done, enjoy your award,
you've earned it.

Presented
by Harbeson and Associates, sites are judged by Will and occasionally
his wife Helen, both proud recipients of Emmy awards for television
photography. Their awards program is top-notch and the criteria for
earning an award actually means something.
"Since
December of 1999 these medals have been earned by web site designers who have
made significant contributions to the improvement of the World Wide Web by
online application of their expertise. By reviewing and listing these sites we
hope to make surfing the web somewhat better for everyone. We have learned a
great deal from both the community of awards givers and from looking at the sites
(like yours) that apply for this award."
I must tell you - I'm proud to have earned this
award. It is one that I feel lends credibility to nanaellen.com. Bringing my
web site up to the Gold Medal level was a learning experience... one that I
highly recommend for any web site designer or developer.

credibility to our site.
Asking other professional web site designers to tell us what they think
of our work, as it were:
 August
2002 - We have visited and reviewed your site. It is always a pleasure
to review a professional well-designed site. The design is fresh and
unique and represents your content very well. Please accept the attached
Five Star award to be proudly displayed on your site.
To qualify for an award on our first two levels (Diamond
and Five Star), your site must be above average in all five and excel
in two or more categories of graphic design, layout, content, professionalism
and interactivity and be original (not a template), innovative and
unique in some way. It must be the kind of site that makes you say, "Wow,
I wish I had thought of that!", or "How did they do that?".
Note: Web Worksite is still
going strong, but no longer offering awards. It remains a great resource
for aspiring web site designers. Click HERE to

only unsolicited awards would be posted here. And, even though only
one of these

generosity.

March
11, 1998 - A gentle place of refreshment and joy! It's creator, Ellen
Lebsock has created a charming place of inviting warmth! Dropping by
her place is like opening the door to Grandma's house just as she's taking
some cookies out of the oven!
When Nana Ellen's was established online at AOL in
November '96 we participated in a banner exchange with several like-minded
web site designers. Oddly enough most of us are still around and
dispite numerous changes... on the WWW, design styles, domain names
- whatever - I think these friends are in it for the long haul...
just as I am.
